Isla de Pascua: El Patrimonio y su Conservación
The next publication, intended to raise awareness of Easter Island and its heritage, describes the natural and cultural history of the island, and provides an overview of its most important monuments. Further explains conservation projects that have been carried out under the auspices of Word Monuments Fund (then known as International Fund for Monuments), focusing on initiatives Dr. Mulloy and his students. It also includes a visual catalog of archaeological items found on the island, thus allowing the technical information presented more accessible to a wider audience. Given the need for public pressure to convince the Chilean Government to allocate the necessary resources for the protection of the site, this work marks one of the promotional efforts that culminated in the successful appointment of Easter Island as a World Heritage Site in 1995.
