Ani in Context Workshop

From September 28 to October 5, 2013, an international workshop called Ani in Context was convened in Turkey’s Kars region. The purpose of the workshop was to extend the focus to include other important heritage sites in the region, and to consider their relationship to Ani. The participants also conducted preliminary conditions assessments of the visited sites, and made recommendations for subsequent action. One site, Khtzkonk Monastery, was chosen as a case study and the report includes a detailed analysis of its conditions.
