A new chapter opens up at Residency

HYDERABAD: The 200-year-old British Residency in Koti which was listed by the World Monument Fund as an endangered structure in 2002 has found a new savior-the National Culture Fund (NCF).

The NCF has agreed to help conserve and restore the Residency, which houses the Osmania University College for Women, in cooperation with the department of archeology and museums (DAM) and Osmania University. "An agreement between the three is expected to be signed soon," B T Seetha, principal of the college said on Monday.
