Malini Thadani

Executive Director, WMF India

Malini Thadani is the executive director of World Monuments Fund India. She also serves as independent director on several corporate and not-for-profit boards and helps businesses integrate sustainability into their strategic vision. As a leader of high-level stakeholder groups, she has held positions on international and regional boards for industry bodies and not-for-profits.  

She was formerly a civil servant of the Indian Revenue Service, with 14 years of experience in various Indian government ministries. She worked for 22 years at HSBC, first in India and later in Hong Kong, where she led the bank’s sustainability teams across 19 markets in Asia. 

Presently, Malini serves as independent director on the corporate boards of Max Estates Limited, AU Small Finance Bank, and Mirae Asset Investment Managers (India) Private Limited. She is also on the boards of the not-for-profits Access Development Services and the Lighthouse Communities Foundation, and she is a trustee of Watershed Organisation Trust (WOTR), Apnalaya, and Shoshit Seva Sangh.
