Palace of Palms: A Night Celebrating Heritage at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew

WMF Britain are delighted to host this event at Kew’s magnificent historic glass houses, the Palm House and the Temperate House.

The iconic Palm House at Kew, designed by Decimus Burton and constructed by Richard Turner between 1844-1848, is one of the UK’s most recognisable buildings and is now a World Monuments Fund Signature Site. A place of vital scientific work and home to threatened and critically endangered tropical plants, it is now in need of repair and restoration to safeguard it for future generations. The event marks a collective celebration of shared cultural heritage and the stories of those living with and conserving these treasured places.

Beginning promptly at 6.30pm, the evening will include a tour of the Palm House followed by a reception and dinner in the Temperate House with an exceptional musical performance.

WMF is partnering with the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew to support the conservation of the Palm House, restoring the structure to its former splendour, whilst minimising carbon emissions to become a carbon neutral glass house by 2030.

Email events@wmf.org.uk for ticket purchases and enquiries.
